BBSEA Regional Steering Committee Convened in Istanbul

The Regional Steering Committee (RSC) of the Blueing the Black Sea (BBSEA) initiative convened at the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation headquarters in Istanbul on 24 March 2026 to align on the next phase of project implementation.

Discussions focused on maximizing the regional impact of the Eco-Innovation Challenge (EIC) semi-finalists and accelerating the delivery of technical assistance to support alignment with EU Directives. Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between national focal points, the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), and BBSEA consultants, who will continue providing specialized technical support throughout the year.

RSC members also agreed on the rotation of the co-chair from Georgia to the Republic of Moldova. The transition is set to take place at the next RSC meeting, scheduled for 11 June 2026 in Chișinău.
