BBSEA Eco-Innovation Challenge Bootcamp Successfully Held in Istanbul
The BBSEA Eco-Innovation Challenge recently reached a significant milestone in Istanbul with an intensive three-day bootcamp for 50 semi-finalists from 21 countries.
From March 23rd to 25th, the bootcamp focused on refining diverse innovations through specialized workshops and technical sessions facilitated by the international accelerator Civitta. Participants worked closely with experts to identify gaps, test assumptions, and improve their project strategies. Beyond technical training, the innovators were introduced to Istanbul's innovation ecosystem through a visit to ITU ARI Teknokent.
A distinct and vital part of the bootcamp was the direct engagement with public institutions. Representatives from ministries in Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Türkiye joined dedicated one-on-one mentorship sessions with the participants. These exchanges offered the innovators direct insight into national priorities and regulatory frameworks, allowing them to test their approaches against real policy contexts to ensure their solutions are both relevant and feasible. This intensive collaboration helped both early-stage and mature projects become better suited to the specific regional conditions and priorities of the Black Sea.
